Coro Perosi is a non-profit making music organization established since 1997. Since then, we had organized several concerts and had been invited for performances in Hong Kong and Zhongshan. By year 2002, we had participated in the 6th International Music Festival in Beijing, China; and had won the copper prize. Besides regular practices, we also invite individual voice soloists to train our members. We are an energetic choir in Macau.

The Coro Perosi has just completed the "Musical Tour to Italy" and is back to Macau. During the two-week journey, Coro Perosi visited Vatican City, Rome, Assisi, Florence, Loppiano, Siena, Pisa and also Venice, where the Choir had held a series of performances and visits. Father Pedro Chung, Vicar General of the Diocese of Macau was invited to join the musical tour as the group leader.
Despite the hot weather, all the choir members were in high spirits. Under the command of Maestro João Ng, the Choir presented two concerts in Church of Santa Maria in Campitelli in Rome and Church of San Bartolomeo a Monte Oliveto in Florence respectively, and successfully introduced sacred choral compositions from Macau to the Italian public. It was one of the most memorable experiences for the members to participate and sing in the Mass in many famous Italian churches, including St. Francis Church of Assisi (Basilica di San Francesco) where rests the remains of St. Francis, so the church has always been the most important Catholic pilgrimage. In addition, they had the opportunity to sing in the mass in Venice's San Marco Cathedral (Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco), another unforgettable experience in the journey. During the tour in Italy, Coro Perosi had performed numerous sacred choral compositions from Macau in the concerts and Mass, including mass choral compositions and motets by Fr. Guilherme Schmid, Fr. Áureo da Costa Nunes e Castro, Doming Lam and Young Lam. Some of these songs were interpreted in Cantonese and Mandarin. It was probably the first time ever to have choral compositions performed in Chinese in these Italian cities. During Santa Udienza on August 5, the Coro Perosi presented to the Pope Francis a song named “The Lord’s Prayer” in Cantonese composed by Doming Lam, which is well known in Chinese communities all over the world. The solemn melody echoed in the Paul VI Audience Hall of Vatican, impressing all spectators inside the Hall.
Coro Perosi also visited the headquarters of the Focolare Movement located at Loppiano, and being warmly welcomed by the Mayor and institutional leader. The Choir was also invited to sing in the Mass of Loppiano together with the local choir. According to the officials of Coro Perosi, "The Musical Tour to Italy" had been planned for more than two years. Through a lot of difficulties and hardships from planning to implementation, it finally achieves the desired purpose of introducing the choral music works of Macau to foreigners. It has been a very meaningful trip to all the members.
